Fachvortrag DSGVO

27. November 2018, 15 Uhr, Park Hyatt Vienna
Vortragender: Norbert Kettner, Tourismusdirektor, WienTourismus

Kick Off Veranstaltung

31. Oktober 2018, 18 Uhr, Renaissance Wien Hotel

Themen

Thema 1

Digitalization is increasingly finding its way into Austrian companies – Hotels in Austria are not exempt from this change. With the new Data Protection Regulation, which came into effect in May 2018, companies are now facing with new challenges. But how much impact does the DSGVO really have on the digital changes in the hotel industry? Which barriers or opportunities arise from the new regulations and how can they be overcome or leveraged?

Thema 2

Hyper local is a new trend contrasting mass tourism, where travelers seek unique neighborhood experiences and integrate themselves directly into local life. Travelers are taking accommodation, breakfast and other aspects bundled in the traditional hotel experience outside of the hotel and into the local neighborhood. For example, a traveler will stay overnight in a bedroom located in a former business building, eat breakfast in a coffee shop next door and even venture to a local restaurant for dinner and drinks. Can Vienna find an answer to these trends and create a unique, new and authentic demand for locally cross-linked hospitality business? What advantages or disadvantages would there be for domestic tourism, if Vienna invests in this new trend?
